HEIDI MORTENSON "CIRCULAR TAPE" 2010
On Circular Tape Heidi has shaped a work defined by the dogma of instant creation and recording music using only a microphone and 7 effect pedals. Nothing was to be rehearsed or arranged ahead of time and the only aim would be to play music and document what happens. Circular Tape sums up snippets and songs which were captured at the instant of creative flow. The result are rare style recordings directly from the veins; shortend sweet to give you only the best and the worst, perhaps the essens of what makes time fly for a moment. No computer has contributed with any sounds and in fact no computer can scan a cassette tape. Circular Tape is absolutely elegant in any music collection.
